Welcome to our new website! Our previous website was over a decade old and needed to be updated to attract visitors to the Museum and better display our digital collections of photos and documents. Plus, it is a super project to celebrate our 50th Anniversary!

In March 2021 the Board of Directors issued an RFP to website creators for the development of a new website. The chosen company was Amplify Marketing & Communications, based in Harrowsmith. Tracy John and Faraz Ahmad have been working diligently with our website committee (Elspeth and Carolyn McCulloch, Catherine Grant, Wendy Hodgkin, Ian Brumell, and Ken Hook) to make the site a reality.

Our goal is to enhance our ability to provide digital resources for education and general interest. The new CDHS website had to be responsive (mobile-friendly) no matter what device the viewer used, desktop, tablet, or smartphone. Our online bookstore received a big upgrade and our ability to archive our calendars, newsletters and, minutes was improved. The site needed to be secure with an SSL certificate and be highly searchable for keywords. Built on a WordPress platform, the site is easily edited and can receive public comments to blog posts. We think the task has been accomplished and welcome your ideas into new ways to expand the site.

The project was no small task. We were fortunate to have generous contributions from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (Community Building Fund), the Ontario Highlands Tourism Organization (Fed Dev), and the Township of North Frontenac.

“I am pleased to see this Community Building Fund grant help those working hard in Cloyne to welcome new visitors to their friendly community and share their deep history,” said Hastings-Lennox & Addington MPP Daryl Kramp. “The pandemic has affected in-person visitation, as does the winter weather, but this new website will welcome the world year-round to the rich natural northern vistas and history of the area.”
