On a Dusty Road somewhere between Tweed and Flinton

Written by: Shelley Holloway

Shelley's debut book, On a Dusty Old Road somewhere between Tweed and Flinton, was a lifetime in the making. A former teacher, she has always loved reading and writing and is grateful to finally have the time to write every day. Encouraged by early successes of short stories published in newspapers, e-magazines and websites, and two recent poems selected for an anthology, Shelley is eager to expand her audience.

She credits her writing group, The Gooseys, for being a constant source of inspiration and encouragement along the way. Shelley is working on a second collection centered on how food connects generations of family, and a book about her personal experience navigating the world of Post-Concussion Syndrome.

Shelley lives in Prince Edward Island with her husband and two dogs, Quincy and Bella. She loves time spent outdoors walking down the red dirt road near her home, walking on the beach, or just puttering in her garden. She credits this love of nature to her paternal grandfather.

This delightful collection of short stories will touch the hearts of readers of all ages. It is a thank-you to her family, especially her grandparents, for giving her, her brother, and her cousins the opportunity to grow up with the freedom to just be kids. She hopes her stories will be enjoyed for generations to come.

"Lively characters and vivid details draw you into this world of simpler times. You are glad more stories are coming." - Dianne Hicks Morrow, former PEI Poet Laureate

"The memories were flashing as I was reading, and I loved and enjoyed it all again." - Christine Duquette Moore, a childhood friend who lived in the house at the top of that dusty old road.
